Aly Helyer was born in 1965 in North Yorkshire. She lives and works in London.
The artist studied her MA at the Chelsea College of Art and Design, London (1992). Solo and Group exhibitions in the UK and internationally include; Transition Gallery, London (2015), Pori Art Museum, Finland (2015); Charlie Dutton Gallery, London(2013); Lion and Lamb Gallery, London (2013); Charlie Smith, London (2012); Barbican Arts Group Trust, London (2010); Jerwood Gallery, London (2002) and Whitechapel Gallery, London (1994).
Aly won the Exeter Contemporary Audience Choice Award (2012) and the Core Gallery prize (2010).
